David K. Hoge
David
Hoge joined the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety,
Office of the Secretary in January 2007 as Deputy Director in the
State Homeland Security State Administrative Agency grant program,
under the direction of
Terry Miller
. David’s initiative
and goals are to build stronger working relationships between the
volunteer community, the private sector, and the emergency
management community in
West Virginia
.
He
is facilitating the state’s Urban to Rural Task Force and will
supervise the regional planners in
West Virginia
’s six homeland security regions.
David
is also the Program Coordinator for Citizen Corps in
West Virginia
, working in partnership with the West Virginia Commission for
National and Community Service.
He
has served as the Emergency Services Director for the Mountain
Laurel Chapter of the American Red Cross from 1993-1997 and for the
Central West Virginia Chapter from 1997-2006.
In
1995, he helped form the West Virginia Volunteer Organizations
Active in Disaster (WV VOAD) organization and served as the chairman
on three different occasions. He
is a former chairman of the Kanawha Putnam Emergency Planning
Committee (KPEPC), a volunteer organization that facilitates
planning for first
responders in Kanawha and
Putnam
Counties
. He also chaired the
Risk Communications Community Outreach and the Drill Planning and
Exercise Committees of the KPEPC.
David
graduated from
West Virginia
University
with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelors
Degree in Political Science. He
is an avid Mountaineer fan.
