Janet Sue Lilly

Janet Sue Lilly of Sissonville, Kanawha County , has been Executive Secretary of the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety ( DMAPS ) since 2001.

Prior to joining DMAPS , Janet was a proofreader for Legislative Services (bill drafting agency) for 14 years.

Janet was a teller for the State Credit Union and the Bank of Sissonville where she took several bank courses.

Janet also managed the Christmas Shop in the Charleston Town Center , hoping someday to own a shop.

Born at Crawley in Greenbrier County , moved to Raleigh County in 1952 and graduated from Trap Hill High School ( Raleigh County ) 1964.

Married to Karl, the couple are the parents of three daughters and have two grandsons and four granddaughters and one granddaughter- in-law.

Janet is a Breast Cancer survivor and enjoys promoting Breast Cancer Awareness projects and events.

Janet’s Hobbies include craftwork, interior design and sewing (making gowns for weddings and proms) costumes and quilts.
