Dale Humphreys, Director


Mission: 
The Division of Juvenile Services is committed to providing effective, beneficial services to youth in the Juvenile Justice system that promote positive development and accountability, while preserving community safety, and sustaining a work environment predicated upon principles of professionalism, with dignity and respect for all.


Biography:
  Dale Humphreys, born in Huntington West Virginia and raised in Mason County West Virginia. He attended Wahama High School and graduated from Pomeroy High School. Dale married Alice Roush of New Haven, West Virginia and they have two sons, Peter and Chris. He and his wife reside in New Haven.

Mr. Humphreys entered the West Virginia State Police Academy in 1968 and retired from the WV State Police in 1999. While in service with the State Police he served ten years in the personnel division as Commander, in charge of Human Resources.After retirement Dale served as Chief of Police in Point Pleasant, WV

Dale has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Marshall University. During his term with the West Virginia State Police he attended the following:

  • West Virginia State Police Academy
  • New Jersey State Police Academy
  • National Safety Council Training Institute, Chicago, Illinois
  • Celina Insurance Training Center, Celina, Ohio
  • Institute of Police Technology and Management, University of North Florida
  • Northwestern University Traffic Institute
  • Marshall University
Before being appointed to the Division of Juvenile Services Mr. Humphreys served as Warden of Lakin Correction Facility for Women.
