Michael Cutlip

Michael Cutlip has worked in West Virginia State Government approximately fifteen (15) years.  Two (2) of those years were spent with the West Virginia Legislative Auditors Office, (11) years with the WV Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and currently with the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety – Homeland Security State Administrative Agency (SAA).

Michael has a diverse education. He has a Bachelors Degree from Fairmont State University in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and minor in Banking and a Masters Degree from Marshall Graduate College in Management with a concentration in Criminal Justice Administration.  Michael has also completed almost 100 hours of continuing education in the area of personnel management.  

While working with the Legislative Auditors Office Michael evaluated the performance of State Agencies to help ensure operations were both effective and efficient.  Michael began working as a programs specialist with DCJS and worked his last five (5) years as the Deputy Director of Programs.  Currently, Michael is the Homeland Security Grant Manager for the SAA where he oversees the grant functions.  During his first year with the SAA, the grant staff worked together to implement a new grant administration process which has proven to be very effective in ensuring total accountability and compliance.    

During his personal time Michael enjoys turkey hunting, camping, exercising, helping with a church basketball league, and most important, spending time with his family.
